Trans Matters offers a one day trans diversity and awareness workshop. Our fun and interactive course uses a variety of tools including group breakout sessions, discussions, case studies along with handouts and access to online resources, along with educating video clips to assist in presenting the facts.

The workshop is flexible enough to be tailored to your own organisations needs for either a small group or for groups of up to 12 delegates.

 

The one day workshop covers:

•  A Historical look at trans issues and Transgendered people and cultures.

•  Medical facts and an overview of surgery involved in Gender Re-assignement including need to know list in relation to adequate time and support during the transition.

•  Challenge the myths and misconceptions about being Transsexual/transgender and lay them to rest... sexuality, labels, observations that arent relevent and have come about by hearsay. An overview of how society reacts and how trans issues have become marginalised.

•  Transitioning in the workplace. What the law says and what the law actually imples, a look at Gender Equality and diversity policy with a overview of the Sex Discrimination law including the recent amendment to include discrimination on Goods and Services along with a look at the Gender Recognition Act.

•  How to manage a transition plan to get the best from both the employer and employee viewpoint to allow a smooth transition.

And Provides:

•  A sufficient background resources kit to enable a through understanding of the issues from the start to finish for the employees transition. Incorporating a checklist that fits to the length of transition.

•  A level of consultancy that is case based and orientated, that will provide a groundwork to allow any future employees that embark on transition too.
